About the Artist
Jennifer Edstrom is an oil painter, devoted to capturing the landscapes of the ever-changing world around her. A true Gemini, she is known for both her representational landscapes and organic abstractions inspired by her San Diego, California coastline hometown and travels beyond. She received her formal training in classical painting methods through her Art History degree from Wellesley College. There she fell in love with painting while exploring the oil, egg tempera, and gilding techniques of the old masters— methods which remain part of her creation process today.
Ever since she could hold a pencil, Jennifer has loved to draw and create, but until recently Jennifer’s creative endeavors were reserved for stolen moments away from her life as a mother, wife, and educator. In the spirit of navigating her midlife crossroads, Jennifer has embarked on a second life as an artist.
